January 06, 2011; Former Winona County jailer arrested again

Nathan_Miller_Dubbelman2.jpgThe social networking website Myspace appears to be too alluring for Nathan Miller Dobbelmann to avoid, court documents show. The former Winona County jailer was arrested Tuesday on a probation violation, after authorities said he used a cell phone to access Myspace and other websites. Dobbelmann, 29, was convicted in 2008 of sending nude photos of himself to a teen, and has been specifically ordered not to go to social networking websites.

This is the sixth time probation agents have alleged Dobbelmann has violated probation.

Judge Mary Leahy allowed Dobbelmann to be released without bail Wednesday. Prosecutors and probation agents wanted Dobbelmann held in jail until his next court hearing on Jan. 13.

"I didn't do anything wrong, so I don't think I should be held," Dobbelmann said.

Leahy ordered Dobbelmann can't have a cell phone with Internet access.

Dobbelmann was placed on probation in April 2008 after he pleaded guilty to distributing obscene material. Under the screen name, "hottestsingleman," Dobbelmann met a girl who told him she was 15 years old, and asked to get together to have sex. He sent her four sexually explicit photos via e-mail in July 2007.

Dobbelmann asked a Houston County probation agent Tuesday to write a background letter for a job, court documents show. He tried to use a cell phone to find an address to give the agent. Dobbelmann told the agent he doesn't use internet on the phone.

A forensic analyst checked the phone, and found that Myspace was accessed fives times since Dobbelmann got the phone.

Dobbelmann was also charged Nov. 2 in Houston County with interfering with a 911 call.
